Kawasan Falls in Cebu, Philippines!

This is one of the tourist spots in Cebu. If you are planning to refresh and want to escape from the busy city life you have, go and visit Kawasan falls. You will surely love the place. The picture above is the actual shot (unedited). What you see in the image is what you surely witness when you get there.

Kawasan Falls is a three-stage cascade of clear turquoise water from mountain springs located in Badian Cebu.

How to get there?

  1. From your place (anywhere on earth), take a ride going to South bus terminal.
  2. Take a bus going to BATO via BARILI not via OSLOB. Anyway, you can ask the driver or the assistant one (conductor) to drop you off at Kawasan, it’s just along the road. The fee is nearly Php 130 or more, depending on your chosen bus (air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned)

The exact location of the place is Matutinao, Badian, Cebu, Philippines. Once you arrive there, you need to pay Php 20 for the entrance fee.

The place is so peaceful and amazing where you can really say to your self how wonderful the creation of God is!

Some women do their laundry in the river. The shot is not so clear. I was walking while taking several pictures.

There are a few bridges that you need to cross and along the way, near the falls, you can see the small hydroelectric power plant that controls the energy of Kawasan river.

If you want to swim but cannot do it my yourself, you rent a life vest for only Php 50.

For those who love to try canyoneering, you can also ask assistance from this booth.

In my case, I’m not that adventurous. So, I didn’t try any canyoneering thing or wear any life vest. I just enjoyed sightseeing with the beauty of nature and drown myself for a moment to forget all the worries in mind, escaping from the busy city life I had at that time.

Goodness! So beautiful!!!

Things to remember while you’re enjoying there:

  1. Swimming is free, but watch your valuables if you don’t want to rent a cottage or a small table.
  2. Cottages (1,500-2,500 pesos) and rooms (1,000 – 1,500 pesos ) are available for rent just in front of waterfall. It can accommodate a lot of people.
  3. Bring your own food if you want to spend less. However, if you want to try some local food, there are a lot of stores, “stalls” and “carenderia” that you might like to try.
  4. Don’t go there on holidays or weekends. It’s too crowded.
  5. Take as many pictures as you can because you rarely visit the place. Unless if you’re planning to come back.
  6. If you don’t like to stay overnight, be sure to leave before 6pm. Else, you ended staying there the whole night. The last trip for the bus going to Cebu City is at 6pm. (In my case, I was standing because I didn’t have any choice and I really wanted to go home. So, I arrived home at exactly 10pm)

Thanks for dropping by. Feel free to give comments and ask questions. Have a great day!
